San Diego Brush Whackers

CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES

Members of San Diego Brush Whackers are given the opportunity to participate in charitable projects throughout the year. Decorative art objects, designed and painted by members, are raffled off or sold at auction, with the proceeds going to a number of worthy charities. Examples are the "Painting for Hope" auction at the Society of Decorative Painters national convention, and fund raisers for the local Breast Cancer Fund and Rachel's Women's Center.

Polinsky Children's Center is a 24-hour facility operated by the County
of San Diego for the temporary shelter of children:
-who have been separated from their families for their own safety
-who are neglected or
-whose parents are unable to provide for them.
We paint and donate canvas bags for the children to carry some of their
personal items when they leave Polinsky Center. The ages of the children
are toddlers to preteen, boys and girls.
